Robert M. Foote - Attorney

Coming from a family of attorneys, partner Robert M. Foote’s career path could be viewed as predetermined back to the days he followed his father into courtrooms.

“I never thought I’d do anything else,” Foote said.

Born in Massachusetts in 1954, Foote earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard in 1976 and his law degree in 1979 from the University of Wisconsin. He was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1979 and has spent more than three decades as an accomplished trial lawyer who has collected in excess of a billion dollars for his clients.

With hundreds of jury and bench trials to his credit, Foote came together with his current partners in 2000 to create a firm with “great talent,” which gave him a opportunity to delve deeper into complex litigation and class claims across the country.

Mr. Foote actively supports the Aurora Foundation in Kane County, which works with abuse victims, and the Celiac Foundation of Chicago.

Mr. Foote’s recent legal experience includes:

- Serving as Class Counsel and Co-Lead Trial Counsel for a national class of truck dealerships against a major truck manufacturer.
- Serving as co-lead counsel on behalf of States against Major Oil Companies.
- Serving Vietnamese fishermen injured by the Gulf Oil Spill.
- Serving to protect the rights of persons injured as a result of tobacco related diseases.
- Serving as lead counsel in a national class against a fortune 500 company for Wage and hour violations.
