 While there is no set numerical requirement, generally, it must be nearly impossible for all the individuals injured to actively participate in the lawsuit for a class action to be appropriate.

What types of compensation can individuals receive in a class action?

The ultimate goal of class action lawsuits are to return to all the individuals harmed the economic benefit that they have lost or fully compensate the individuals for any personal injuries they have suffered. For example, if consumers were overcharged for a product, a class action lawsuit would seek to return to them the amount that they were overcharged.
