Policy Limit Settlement When Improperly Prescribed Medication Leads to Birth Defects
While pregnant, Ellen Anderson was prescribed Lotensin by her gynecologist, Dr. Robert Hartman. Dr. Hartman failed to inform Mrs. Anderson of the potential serious side effects associated with taking Lotensin while she was pregnant, and she continued to use the medication throughout her pregnancy. As a result of the use of the drug, her son, Matthew, was born with severe birth defects.
The case was settled near the policy limit by attorneys Peter Flowers and Craig Brown.
